This freeform cut Deer Creek fire agate cabochon has a bright metallic color display of orange and green fire. It has a good refraction level that displays well in most good lighting conditions. This polished, flat bottomed, gemstone is ready for final jewelry setting or collection display. The gem weighs 4.40 carats and measures 13.44 mm by 11.31 mm by 4.79 mm.

This gemstone originates from Deer Creek, Arizona, a region renowned for its premium fire agates that often exhibit vivid red, orange, green, purple and blue color variations.

Photographs were taken indoors under full spectrum lighting and outdoors in natural sunlight to best showcase the fire display and color play. The colors seen within fire agates arise from the Schiller effect, like what is seen in mother-of-pearl and opals. This phenomenon results from alternating layers of silica and iron oxide that diffract light, creating the interference patterns known as fire. Optimal lighting enhances this color play while in dimmer conditions the colors will be less vivid and the stone will appear darker in color.
