This piece of Slaughter Mountain fire agate rough measures 3 x 1-3/4 x 1-1/4 inches and weighs 134 grams. There are two separate areas of limonite banding visible on this stone so it will likely produce two different finished fire agate gemstones if properly cut. This piece also features translucent chalcedony formations with unique geometric design and areas of the rhyolite matrix host rock still attached. The provided photos show the exact stone that you will receive, photographed outdoors in natural sunlight and indoors under full spectrum artificial lighting. Images show the stones both dry and wet for best visual display.

 

This piece is vintage Slaughter Mountain fire agate rough which was extracted from the mine in 2012 by members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. Renowned globally for exceptional fire agates, Slaughter Mountain gemstones showcase vivid color ranges including bright reds, oranges, greens, purples and blues. The mineral deposit lies within the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation and mining rights are exclusively reserved for tribal members.

 

This stone is completely natural and may exhibit typical imperfections such as cracks or chips, which occur naturally or because of the hard rock mining extraction processes.
