A good sized piece of high grade Slaughter Mountain fire agate rough which weighs 73.04 grams and measures approximately 2-1/8” x 2-1/8” x 1-3/4” in size. This piece shows colorful external banding on the outside and could be either cut for the internal gemstone(s) or used as a nice mineral specimen display. Photos shown are of the exact piece that you will receive with pictures taken outdoors in sunlight and indoors under artificial full spectrum. Images show the stone both dry and wet to reveal the complete range of its visual properties.
This old stock gemstone rough originates from Slaughter Mountain, Arizona, and was extracted between 2012 and 2017 by members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The fire agate mineral deposit is located on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation and mining is only allowed to be carried out by members of the tribe. Slaughter Mountain fire agate rough is renowned globally for exceptional fire agates and showcase vivid color ranges including bright reds, oranges, and deep greens, purples and blues.
This stone is completely natural and may exhibit typical imperfections such as cracks or chips which occur naturally or because of the hard rock mining extraction processes.
